State-level painting competition on Big Temple

It will be held in three categories– till Class X, Plus 1 and Plus 2 and colleges

The Department of Arts and Culture will organise a State-level painting competition to commemorate 1000 years of Big Temple in Thanjavur.

Paintings in water colour, pen drawing, colour pencil drawing and pastel in A4 size on the topic Thanjavur Big Temple with the address and contact details of the artists could be submitted in person or by post at the Office of the Commissioner of Arts and Culture, Dr. DGS Dhinakaran Road, Government Music College Premises, Chennai – 28, before September 20.

The competition will be of three categories – till Class X, Plus 1 and Plus 2 and colleges.

The headmasters and principals should have attested at the back of the painting.

Family tour as prize

A team of artists will select three best works for each category and the department will arrange for a three-day tour of the winners with four family members at any of the tourist destinations in the State.

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation will take care of boarding and lodging, said an official release.
