Protesting the indirect move to privatise the transport corporations, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-backed Thozhilaalar Munnetra Sangam cadres staged a demonstration here on Tuesday.

Raising slogans against the move, they said the State Government was adopting anti-people and anti-labour policies, “which would smother the transport corporations.”

They came down heavily on the Union Government’s “anti-labour and pro-MNC policies.”

Tuticorin

Cadres of DMK Labour Progressive Front staged a demonstration here on Tuesday condemning the state government for it anti-labour polices.

Susee Ravindran, secretary of the front, who led the agitation near Tuticorin Old Corporation on WGC Road, said welfare boards of unorganised workers were not being operated properly and workers could not avail benefits.

He sought prompt measures to revive such welfare boards across Tamil Nadu in the interest of unorganised workers.
