Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Treasurer M.K. Stalin on Wednesday appealed to the party cadres not to celebrate his birthday falling on March 1 in an ostentatious manner.

In a statement Mr Stalin requested the party cadres not to embarrass him by putting up vinyl hoardings, banners, posters and placards.

They should be strictly avoided. Polite and quiet behaviour was needed. Pompous and glory were always disliked, he said.

The focus of the party cadres should be on the forthcoming Parliament elections.

Youth Wing members should extend help to aged people, poor and downtrodden, orphaned children, transgenders and the differently-abled; conducting youth wing meetings through which holding election campaigns, distributing books to libraries named after C.N. Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi, recognising the services of senior persons in the party were some of the activities that he welcomed, he said.
