Stalin resigns as DMK treasurer after poll defeat

Takes it back later on his father and party chief M. Karunanidhi’s persuasion

On a day of dramatic reversals, the DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin, resigned his party post for its debacle in the Lok Sabha polls, only to take it back later on his father and party chief M. Karunanidhi’s persuasion.

“It is an utter lie. Mr. Stalin just told me that he only wanted to resign owning responsibility for the defeat of the party in the elections,” Mr. Karunanidhi told reporters.
