Stalin inaugurates modified CODISSIA Complex

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M. K. Stalin today inaugurated the modified CODISSIA Complex, the venue of the World Classical Tamil Conference, starting here from June 23.

The works to give a facelift to the complex has been going on for the last five months and Mr. Stalin has reviewed the infrastructural development works in and around the city, being carried out at a cost of Rs. 300 crore.

On Sunday morning, he inspected the works, particularly roads, highmast lamps, airport and media centre.

Mr. Stalin also inspected the final touches being given to 40 floats, portraying the culture, arts and tradition of Tamil Nadu, which would be taken in a procession from VOC Park Grounds to Codissia complex in the evening of the inaugural day, which would be witnessed by President Pratibha Patil.

The President will inaugurate the main conference in the morning.
