Stalin distributes solatium to kin of firing victims

M.K. Stalin, former Deputy Chief Minister, on Thursday gave away cash assistance of Rs.1 lakh each to the kin of six persons killed in Paramakudi police firing.

Accompanied by former Ministers S. Thangavelan, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandiran and Thangam Thennarasu, he visited Pallavarayanendhal, Kila Kodumalur, Veerambal, Manjure and Paramakudi and met the relatives of those killed.

Offering condolences on behalf of DMK chief M. Karunandhi, Mr. Stalin said that the party would always be with them.

It would continue to take steps for protecting Dalit rights.
