DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Saturday demanded a probe by a sitting judge of the Madras High Court into allegations that adulterated milk was being supplied by private milk producers.

He noted that the CB-CID had inquired into adulteration of milk by the State-run Aavin, but no one knew what transpired later.

“Now, the Dairy Development Minister himself has levelled allegations against private milk suppliers and it is clear that he would have known about it earlier. The question is why the government has not taken action,” he said.

Stating that the ban on cattle slaughter was one of the many communal agendas of the BJP government, he said, “The government cannot claim to have made any achievements, and has brought in a ban to divert people’s attention.”
