The Staff Selection Commission has introduced online application facility for the Combined Graduate Level Examination. The fee can be paid through State Bank of India.
Announcing this here on Friday, Chairman of the Commission N.K. Raghupathy said it would fill by March 31 nearly 13,000 posts lying vacant.
“We want to make the process easier for aspirants. In fact, I am also on Twitter [ID – sscchief] with about 1,500 aspirant-followers, who interact with me regularly,” he said.
Speaking to reporters, he said this year’s examination would substitute five earlier examinations — the Combined Graduate Examination, Tax Assistant Examination, Sub Inspectors in Central Police Organisations Examination, Statistical Investigator Grade II Examination and Compilers in RGI Examination.
Moreover, the written examination would be conducted in two tiers — the first for shortlisting candidates for the second tier. It would also have weightage in the final selection.
Candidates applying for multiple posts could submit a single application paying the examination fee just once, instead of submitting multiple applications with fees. “We hope to complete the recruitment cycle in 11-12 months,” Mr. Raghupathy said.
All papers would have objective type, multiple choice questions.
Interview and personality test would be required only for select posts. “Now, we have also decided to disclose the marks to candidates, besides allowing them to retain a carbon-less duplicate of their answer sheet.” For details, log on to http://ssc.nic.in.
R. Bhagya Devi, Regional Director, southern region of the Commission, said the website of the southern region had been revamped ( www.sscsr.gov.in) and made more user-friendly.
