April 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - DINDIGUL:

A Sri Lankan refugee was hacked to death in his house at Puliampatti refugee camp near Palani on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as G. Kamala Nathan (35), a daily wage worker engaged in painting work.

Acting on a complaint filed by Kamala Nathan’s wife Naga Rani, who works in a private dairy farm in Palani, police arrested Dhandapani (25) of Palani.

When she returned home from work around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Naga Rani saw Kamala Nathan lying in a pool of blood.

After preliminary investigation, the police said Naga Rani had an illicit relationship with Dhandapani, her neighbour. Kamala Nathan reportedly used to pick quarrels with her and tortured her frequently. Irked by this, Dhandapani allegedly planned to murder Kamala Nathan.
