Sri Lankan Navy arrests 11 Pudukottai fishermen

Eleven fishermen from two villages of Jegadapattinam and Kottaipattinam in Pudukottai district were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy in the mid sea in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to official sources, the fishermen had ventured into the sea on Monday by two boats from Kottaipattinam and one boat from Jegadapattinam. The incident happened when the fishermen were returning home after fishing.

The naval personnel took all the arrested fishermen to Kangesanthurai harbour.
