A spotted deer was found dead in Settikadu area on the outskirts of the city on Thursday morning. On spotting the carcass of the animal abutting the reserve forests, the local people informed the forest department personnel who rushed to the spot. The body was sent to the veterinary hospital for post mortem. Forest department personnel suspect that the spotted deer may have intruded into Settikadu area in search of water. They suspect that the animal could have died due to dog bite. However, the outcome of the post mortem will reveal the cause of the death, the forest department sources said.
