Special police teams formed to trace culprits

Five special police teams have been formed on the direction of Deputy Inspector- General of Police E.Ma.Masanamuthu (Villupuram range) and under the supervision of Superintendent of Police P.Pakalavan to trace the culprits behind the killing of a woman and a child whose remains were found on a bus originating from Sankarapuram.

A piece of unclaimed baggage contained the head of a woman and the body of a girl. The bus left Sankarapuram on January 18 and after having journeyed to Chennai and Salem it returned to the Sankarapuram depot on January 19. It was on Wednesday evening that the officials opened the baggage. The identity of the victims is yet to be established.

Mr. Pakalavan said the teams headed by two Deputy Superintendents of Police and five Inspectors of Police were pursuing various trails.
