Special camp conducted

The Department of Animal Husbandry, Vellore along with Thandalam Yogashema Trust, Chennai and All India Radio, Chennai conducted a special veterinary treatment camp at Thandalam village, Arakkonam taluk on March 21.

According to a release, 590 cattle were vaccinated against foot and mouth disease in the camp, while 230 sheep and 341 goats were de-wormed and a number of dogs and birds were also treated.

G. Kamalanathan, additional director, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, K. Rajasekaran, regional joint director of Animal Husbandry, Vellore and Radha Parthasarathy, founder trustee of Thandalam Yogashema Trust were present, the release said.
