Solatium for family of victim

The family of S. Sasikumar (35), who was killed in the Seshachalam forest in Andhra Pradesh, received solatium of Rs. 3 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Rs. 2 lakh from AIADMK’s party fund here on Friday.

Minister for Highways and Minor Ports Edappadi K. Palaniswami presented the cheque to Sasikumar’s wife Ranjitham at Kallukuthu village in Attur taluk in the presence of Collector K. Maharabushanam, District Revenue Officer S. Selvaraj, K. Kamaraj, MP from Kallakurichi, S. Madheswaran MLA from Attur, Attur Revenue Divisional Officer S. Jeyachandran and Tamil Nadu Central Cooperative Bank president R. Elangovan. Also, the Minister presented a cheque for Rs. 2 two lakh that was announced by party’s general secretary Jayalalithaa.

The Minister and others paid floral tributes to the picture of Sasikumar and also consoled the grieving family. Villagers also gathered in large number and sought suitable action against the killers.

He is also the DMDK branch secretary for his village. Also, members of DMDK led by its State secretary Elango presented a cheque for Rs. 50,000 to the family.
