As part of efforts to prevent spread of dengue fever, distribution of Nilavembu Kashayam began at Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.
District Collector V. Sampath inaugurated the five-day camp organised by the Siddha Wing of the hospital.
Mr. Sampath said that the kashayam was available at district headquarters hospital, government hospitals, block level hospitals, primary health centres, and at special camps held across the district.
Five days
The camp would be held from November 25 to 29 in all the 20 blocks in the district, he added. Doctors said that adults can take 30 ml to 50 ml for five days while children in the age group of 1 to 12 can take 10 ml for five days.
No side effects
The kashayam consists of nine herbs that was both curative and preventive. There was no side effects, they added.
Citizens should consume it continuously for five days. Mayor S. Soundappan; V. Paneerselvam, MP; M.K. Selvaraj, MLA; Deputy Mayor M. Natesan; Joint Director of Medical Services M.
