SID to seek custody of ‘Police’ Fakruddin, Bilal Malik

The Special Investigation Division of Crime Branch CID is planning to formally record the arrest of ‘Police’ Fakruddin and Bilal Malik in connection with the murder of BJP State Secretary ‘Auditor’ Ramesh.

Currently, the two are in judicial custody at the Vellore Central Prison, after the SID questioned them in connection with the murder of a Hindu outfit functionary at Vellore.

Based on a petition filed by CB-CID Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan, Salem Judicial Magistrate IV Vijayalakshmi on Monday granted permission to formally record the arrest of two.

The team would record the arrest of the two at the Vellore Central Prison and bring them to Salem. On producing them before the judicial magistrate at Salem, SID would seek custody of the two for questioning, the source said.

Sources said that questioning of the two would reveal their role, motive in the murder of Ramesh on July 19 and also to recover the weapons used for committing the murder.

Panna Ismail, also another suspect nabbed at Puttur in Andhra Pradesh on October 5 was currently undergoing treatment in Chennai for the bullet wound sustained during the operation.
