SI put on compulsory wait

The Tiruvarur Superintendent of Police K. Jeyachandran has transferred and put on compulsory wait a Sub-Inspector of Police here, who had put up a flex board hailing AIADMK leader and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s victory in the just concluded Assembly elections.

Sub-Inspector Ravi, attached to the Muthupettai Police Station, had put up the board in his native place Aduthurai near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district. Besides celebrating the AIADMK victory, he had eulogised Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and had featured his photo in uniform with name as well. This went viral on the social media creating a furore.

Following a formal department inquiry, Mr. Jeyachandran placed Ravi on compulsory wait after transferring him to the Armed Reserve.
