The Shevaroys College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in Yercaud will organise ‘Theru Vizha’, an Indian street food festival, in the hill station on Saturday.
The food festival will mainly focus on the food, culture and tradition of Indian streets and will be open only for lunch (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). About 100 traditional and popular Indian street food delicacies will be served during the festival, with its own style. The ambiance and arrangements will also reflect the street food culture of the country, Ananda Ravi Kumar, principal, Shevaroys Catering College, Yercaud and P. Sivakumar, Principal, Shevaroys Catering College, Salem, told presspersons here on Thursday.
These food items will be cooked and served in traditional style.
The country accounted for more than 5,000 varieties of street food. These will be divided State wise and the most popular dishes will be selected and displayed at the venue at the Government open air auditorium, Yercaud hills.
The students of the college will explain the preparation methods of the street food items displayed to the visitors.
