Selection trials for the district junior athletic team, which will participate in the State Junior Athletic Championship in Cuddalore from August 5 to 7, will be held at the District Sports Stadium at 9 a.m. on July 28.
In a press release, R. Gunasekaran, secretary, Dindigul District Athletic Association, said boys and girls under 20, 18, 16 and 14 years were eligible to take part in the selection trials.
The athletes should produce original date of birth certificate along with two attested copies. Spot registration would begin at 9 a.m. at the stadium.
The events would be 100 metres, 600 metres, long jump and shot put for boys and girls (under 14 years ); 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, long jump, shot put, discus throw for boys and girls (under 16); 100 metres, 200 metres, 800 metres, 1,500 metres, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw for boys and girls (under 18); and 100 metres, 200 metres, 1,500 metres, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw for boys and girls (under 20).
