Naam Tamizhar Katchi founder-leader Seeman, facing sedition charges for making inflammatory speech at a meeting organised by the Tamil film industry in support of Sri Lankan Tamils, appeared before the Additional District Court here on Thursday. The Q Branch police had charged both Seeman and film director Ameer on sedition charges for their speeches at the meeting organised in Rameswaram on October 19, 2008.
Case adjourned
When the matter came up for hearing, Additional District Judge Tamilarasan adjourned the case till March 12, while allowing a petition filed by M. Somasundaram, counsel for Ameer, seeking exemption from his personal appearance for the day on Thursday.
