Secure licence, brick kiln owners told

The district administration has called upon brick kilns owners and brick manufacturers to secure proper licences for operations to avoid administrative action for violations.

The manufacturers of bricks are required to procure the requisite clearances from the Pollution Control Board, and a licence from the District Collector for operations of brick kilns. Further, no brick kilns shall employ bonded labourers, or labourers less than 14 years of age. Rules regarding the operation of brick kilns may be ascertained from the Joint Director of Mines and Minerals here at the District Collectorate. Action will be initiated against violators, the release said.
