SDPI protests A.P. killings

April 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - NAGERCOIL:

The Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a demonstration protesting against the alleged gunning down of 20 Tamil workers in Andhra Pradesh in front of the Collectorate here on Thursday.

They raised slogans against the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking at the protest, the leaders of the party alleged that the innocent Tamil workers were killed by Andhra Pradesh police force in the pretext of self-defence. Terming the incident a fake encounter, the activists demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government should register a criminal case against the police personnel responsible for the killings.

The protesters wanted AP political functionaries, who were allegedly involved in the smuggling of red sanders, arrested.
