Scores of devotees witness car festival at Tiruchendur

The temple car festival, held as part of ‘Masi Thiruvila’ with religious fervour and gaiety, at Sri Subramaniaswamy Temple in Tiruchendur on Wednesday was witnessed by a large number of devotees on Wednesday.

Special prayers were offered since early hours. The festival began with temple flag hoisting ceremony on February 23. On the 10th day of the festival, the temple priests, devotees and philanthropists pulled the temple car along the four Car streets of the temple. Three cars were pulled by the devotees at 6.05 a.m., 6.45 a.m. and 6.50 a.m.

The district administration had made elaborate arrangements in the interest of devotees. Additional bus services had been introduced.

Joint Commissioner (in-charge) of temple R. Gnanasekar and other officials of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department witnessed the festival.
