The two-day Innovation of Science Pursuit for Inspire Research (INSPIRE) science exhibition of school students commenced at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School here on Monday. It was by Collector M. Karunakaran and showcased the young talents’ scientific temper and their proficiency in latest technologies.

As the students, who were selected for the INSPIRE assistance of Rs. 5,000 for 2015 – 2016, exhibited their inventions at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai on Monday, the first day of the event, it attracted a decent crowd, mostly students.

The scientific solutions they had provided for preventing theft in ATMs, energy conservation, traffic snarls, averting flooding, detecting LPG leak through sensors, prevention of wild animal invasion into farms, earthquake-proof resistant houses etc. showcased the participants’ scientific attitude and their curiosity to learn new things with the help of their teachers and guides.
