TIRUNELVELI

Kuruvikulam police in the district have arrested the correspondent of the school where an upper kindergarten student drowned in a water tank on Tuesdsay.

The police said that M. Kavin (5) of Karadikulam near Kazhugumalai, who was studying at a private school at Sevalkulam under Kuruvikulam police station limits, accidentally fell into a water tank when he had gone to the toilet.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared ‘brought dead’.

The accident might have occurred as the low-level water tank did not have a protective wall around it, the police said.

Against this backdrop, the police arrested the correspondent of the school, S. Nagarajan (37) of Puthumanai 6th Street in Sankarankovil, on Wednesday.
