For the second consecutive day, V.K. Sasikala, the jailed interim general secretary of the AIADMK, presently out on parole, met her husband M. Natarajan at the Gleneagles Global Hospitals, where he recently underwent a liver and kidney transplant.
Police sources said that Ms. Sasikala left the residence of the daughter of Ilavarasi — her sister-in-law and co-accused in the Disproportionate Assets case — around 11 a.m., and reached the hospital by 11.45 a.m. Her relatives accompanied her. She met her husband around 12.45 p.m. and was with him till 1.30 p.m.
Afterwards, she met some of her relatives in another room of the hospital. “She then met Mr. Natarajan again for a few minutes and left the hospital around 2 p.m. There was not much [of a] crowd to see her,” said a police official.
‘Won’t meet her’
Hospital sources said that Mr. Natarajan’s condition remained the same. “He is recovering well, but [is] still on ventilator [support],” a doctor said.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Vellamandi R. Natarajan said that State Ministers would not meet Ms. Sasikala.
He contended that there was no truth to the allegation that the State government was responsible for the delay in granting parole to Sasikala. “The law has done its duty,” he said.
