The Special Court trying the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Monday adjourned proceedings after it was intimated that the Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings till June 6.

The judge asked the counsel for Ms. Jayalalithaa to produce a copy of the apex court’s order so that appropriate action could be taken in accordance with top court’s direction.

V.K. Sasikala and J. Ilavarasi, two of the three other accused, were personally present as per Special Court’s direction issued on Saturday.

The court refused Ms. Sasikala’s plea for time and asked her to submit her argument on May 27. But, the court later adjourned proceedings in view of the apex court’s order.
