Sales target fixed for Tiruvarur district

The Cooptex has set itself a sales target of Rs. 2.30 crore during the special Deepavali season this year through its four major outlets in Tiruvarur district. There are major Cooptex show rooms in Tiruvarur, Tiruthuraipoondi, Mannargudi and Valangaiman.

Launching the special sales at the Tiruvarur Cooptex here on Wednesday, Collector L. Nirmal Raj said that the Cooptex planned to achieve a sales target of Rs. 4.50 crore during the current fiscal in Tiruvarur district.

Of that, the special season sales target has been set at Rs. 2.30 crore through the four Cooptex showrooms. He said that for the Tiruvarur showroom alone sales target has been pegged at Rs. 65 lakh. The previous year sales achievement was Rs. 51.02 lakh.

This year’s attractions at the Cooptex special sales included organic cotton sarees and a range of silk sarees from Salem, Arni, Tirubhuvanam, Kancheepuram and Coimbatore soft silk sarees. Other attractions for the buyers included the traditional Sungudi sarees, Chettinad sarees, Koorainadu sarees as also the Kanchi cotton and Negamam cotton varieties. Kora cotton, jeans tops, Meerut bedsheets, chudidhar materials, Sirumugai, Aruppukkottai, Paramakudi, Woriyur, Vanavasi and Salem cotton sarees.

Mr. Nirmal Raj called upon the government employees, teachers, public sector undertaking employees, TNSTC employees and other public servants to make use of the Cooptex's credit purchase offer without any interest during the current diwali season. The general public could utilise the liberal discount offer, he noted.

District Revenue Officer T. Mohanraj, RDO Muthumeenakshi, Cooptex Regional Manager, Thanjavur, Chelliah, Branch Manager, Tiruvarur, Venkatesan were present.
