Rs.1.88 crore settled in Lok Adalat

Nearly 105 cases were settled and Rs.1.88 crore was disbursed at the National Lok Adalat held on Saturday.

Organised by the District Legal Services Authority, the Adalat took up a total of 605 cases relating to drinking water, electricity and telecommunication services.

Of this, 105 cases were settled and the amount was disbursed to the beneficiaries.

The highest amount settled on Saturday was Rs. 1.75 lakh in a case pertaining to default in payment of telephone bill.

S. Ananthi, Principal District Judge, and V. Damodaran, Sub-Judge and secretary of District Legal Services Authority were present.
