A special programme for ascertaining the knowledge of mothers-in-law in handling the pregnant daughters-in-law was organised. Gynaecologists posed various questions to the women who vied with one another in providing health-based and pregnant women-friendly answers.

Maheswari, one of the elderly women, explained the steps she has been taking to ensure the health of her daughter-in-law Aruna. She explained the efficacy of green leaf vegetables, fruits, jaggery, grains, cereals, nuts. Serials should be totally avoided. “Above all, I also advice my daughter-in-law to listen to music which stimulates baby’s brain,” she said.
