Robbers attack document writer, rob him of Rs. 11 lakh

In a daring daylight robbery, unidentified robbers attacked a document writer and took Rs. 11 lakh in cash from him on Tuesday.

Police said document writer Arunachalam (54) of Thisaiyanvilai was going from Panagudi to Radhapuram in his bike in connection with the registration of a document.

When he reached Thandaiyaarkulam, three unidentified persons, who came to the spot in two bikes, waylaid him and attacked him with sickle.

Even as injured Arunachalam was profusely bleeding, the robbers took Rs. 11 lakh in cash from him and also the victim’s two-wheeler before fleeing.

When the passers-by happened to see the injured document writer battling for life, they rushed him to the Kanyakumari Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. Valliyoor DSP Balaji visited the spot. Panagudi police have registered a case.
