Revive Sethu project: Karunanidhi

DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Monday made a fervent plea for reviving the Sethusamudram project and asked his partymen to prepare to lay down their lives for the project. He said the canal project would bring prosperity to Tamil Nadu and keep poverty at bay.

Addressing the party’s administrative council meeting organised to discuss the issue, he said the agitation slated for July 8 in support of the project should highlight the true spirit of the DMK men. “It will be just a beginning. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the cause should ensure that Tamil Nadu becomes a rich state in the country. Whoever is against the project is against the people of Tamil Nadu and Tamils,” he said.
