Police recovered the body of a retired bank employee with stab injuries from his house at Panagudi on Tuesday.

The police said S. Kandasamy (65), the retired bank employee, was living with his wife Chithra at Panagudi. When Ms. Chithra, who was sleeping in the hall on Monday night, woke up on Tuesday morning and went to the bedroom where her husband was sleeping, she found Kandasamy lying in a pool of blood with three stab injuries on the neck.

As she screamed for help, the neighbours rushed to the house and alerted the police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Valliyoor) Sahaya Jose and Inspector of Police (Panagudi) Barnabas visited the spot and sent the body to hospital for a post-mortem.
