In a novel protest to express their anger against the Corporation’s failure to re-lay Annasalai Road in the last 10 years, the residents of Chinna Tirupathi distributed sweets to the general public here on Wednesday.

Unmotorable roads

Residents said that the road in Ward 8 has not been re-laid in the last 10 years and vehicle users faced the brunt of the unmotorable road on a daily basis.

As a way of expressing their anger, they distributed sweets to the general public.

They said that roads in areas such as Kamarajar Nagar, Srinagar Colony and Pallakadu were equally bad.

No basic amenities

Residents said that both the parties, that were in power at the Corporation in the last 10 years, failed to provide any basic amenities.

They also appreciated the officials for failing in their duty. The residents also expressed confidence that the road would not be re-laid in the near future and they could celebrate its anniversary every year.
