Former Minister and DMK MLA N. Suresh Rajan has urged the authorities to repair badly damaged roads in the district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that the people from all walks of life including school children are suffering a lot due to bad roads.
As the 10-day annual festival of the St Xavier church in the town is scheduled to begin from Thursday, the authorities should repair Kottar-Xavier Church Road from Joseph Convent to Veppamudu-Chettikulam and Punnai Nagar Road, Chettikulam-Irulappapuram Road and Veppamudu-Vadaseri Road, among others. If new roads could not be laid at once, at least patch-up works should be undertaken immediately.
