In the latest in a series of violent assaults on people involved in real estate transactions, a 40-year-old businessman was hacked to death by a gang in Naduveerapattu village, about 15 kilometres from Tambaram on Wednesday.
Gajendran, police said, was having a chat with a group of men on Tambaram – Somangalam Road, when six men, all of them on motorcycles, pounced on him. They attacked him with sickles, resulting in the realtor bleeding to death on the spot. The murder took place around 10 a.m. Somangalam police are investigating.
