Rape case accused found murdered

A construction worker, who is an accused in a rape case, was found murdered near here on Monday.

A. Suresh alias Sudalai Raj (33), a construction worker from Manimurtheeswaram, was found murdered in a farm near the village on Monday morning. His head had been crushed and the genital organ chopped off. Since Sudalai Raj, father of three children, was wanted by the police in connection with the sexual assault of a 10th Standard girl student, was found murdered, Commissioner of Police R. Thirugnanam visited the spot, where empty liquor bottles and snacks were strewn around.

The police suspect that Sudalai Raj, who went underground following the registration of sexual assault case against him, might have been murdered by the relatives of the girl. Thatchanallur police have registered a case.
