Rameswaram fishermen to stay off sea indefinitely

Fishermen from the Rameswaram region of Tamil Nadu will go on an indefinite strike from Monday demanding the release of more than 30 of their colleagues arrested by Sri Lankan Navy on the charge of poaching.

A meeting of various fishermen associations held in Rameswaram on Sunday also resolved to hold a road roko on April 12 at the Pamban bridge, representatives of the association told reporters.
