Ramadoss alleges kidnap of PMK workers

March 24, 2010 12:32 am | Updated 12:32 am IST - DHARMAPURI:

PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Tuesday charged that three PMK office bearers were kidnapped by DMK men when they were returning to their villages on Monday night.

Mr. Ramadoss told reporters here that party office bearers Madhappan of Adhanur, Muniappan of Pillapatti and Rajadurai of Mangarai were kidnapped and produced before Deputy Chief Minister Stalin and made to join the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. A photo also was taken. State Food Minister E.V. Velu, who is also in charge of the by-election in Pennagaram, refuted Ramadoss's charge. He told The Hindu that the PMK men joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on their own.

“We never indulge in kidnapping or force anyone to join the DMK,” Mr. Velu said.
