The queue complex constructed at Sri Dharabaranyeswarar temple, popularly known as Sri Saneeswarar temple at Tirunallar near here, will be thrown open to the devotees on Saturday.
The facility ensures safe and hassle-free wait for a few hours for the devotees on Saturdays when a large number of devotees throng the temple from different parts of the state in general, and from Tamil Nadu in particular.
Accompanied by officials, the Collector, E. Vallavan, on Friday, inspected the complex constructed at an estimate of Rs. 4.73 crore by the Public Works Department, sanctioned through the Tourism Department, under the Tirunallar Temple Town Development project.
Although a large number of pilgrims visit the temple daily, thousands of devotees throng it to offer worship to Lord Saturn on Saturdays. A decision to throw open the complex to devotees was taken following a large congregation of devotees last Saturday.
Temple authorities said arrangements have been made for regulating the queue throughout the day on Saturday.
It would be a hassle-free wait for devotees as the complex has all facilities, including toilets and drinking water. It can accommodate at least 3,000 devotees at a given time.
The devotees would reach the shrine dedicated to Sri Saneeswarar from this queue complex.
Shops have been constructed on the complex.
Sources said that water re-cycling plant is being executed at the Nalan Kulam, the major temple tank, where the devotees take a dip before visiting the temple.
The work was expected to be completed in a couple of months.
