Buddan alias Madhavan (42), a panchayat pump operator of Bangalamedu in Melarasambattu in Veppankuppam police station limits sustained injuries when the trigger of the gun in his possession went off accidentally.
He was trying to load it in the forest area in Bangalamedu past midnight of Thursday, when the incident occurred.
According to the police, Buddan possessed a gun for hunting in the forest. He was admitted to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital, Adukkamparai, for treatment.
From there he was referred to the CMC Hospital, Vellore.
