Pugazhendhi disputes Amrutha’s claim

AIADMK’s Karnataka State secretary V.A. Pugazhendhi, an ardent supporter of sidelined leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran, has filed a petition in the Madras High Court accusing Bengaluru-based S. Amrutha, 37, of making false claims of being the biological daughter of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Urging Justice S. Vaidyanathan, who was seized of the case, to include him also as one of the respondents to a case filed by Ms. Amrutha to conduct a DNA test, Mr. Pugazhendhi claimed that she had approached him about 10 years ago with a request to arrange for a meeting between her and Ms. Jayalalithaa after claiming to be the latter’s distant relative.

“Based on her statement made to me, I clarified with my beloved leader Ms. J. Jayalalithaa, about the claim, who, in turn, denied the claim” and added that the above persons are not at all related to her and they are fraud. Hence, I turned down her request for meeting our beloved leader... Her present petition is nothing but a publicity-oriented adventurism,” Mr. Pugazhendhi said.

Stating that he had had the opportunity of being in close proximity with the former Chief Minister whenever she visited Bengaluru, he urged the court to implead him as one of the parties so that he would be able to assist the court in taking a right decision on the claim made by the Ms. Amrutha.
