Puducherry CM to meet Union Ministers on pending projects

Chief Minister V Vaithilingam will leave here for Delhi tomorrow to take up with the Central Government various proposals submitted by the Union Territory administration for its clearance.

Accompanied by his Ministerial colleagues, he is likely to meet the Union Home Minister, the Finance Minister, Agriculture and Food Ministers to seek clearance for the projects.

Besides discussions on old age pension scheme, the union territory government will press for speeding up the airport construction. The need for increasing the strength of police force would be taken up with the Home Minister, Mr. Vaithilingam said.

He said his ministerial colleagues would soon declare their assets in keeping with the modified code of conduct for Chief Minsters and ministers.

Vaithilingam had last week sent the statement of his and his wife`s assets to the Centre.
