Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Wednesday said an impartial enquiry would be conducted in connection with the bomb-like device found near the Union Minister Narayanasamy’s house.

Speaking to reporters after the Director General of Police P. Kamaraj held a discussion with him on the pipe bomb issue, he said instructions had been given to police officials to investigate the case from all angles and that the device had been taken to a safe place for disposal.

The help of Tamil Nadu police was sought to defuse it as well as ascertain its nature, he added. He couldn’t say much on it as investigation was on. However, speedy steps would be taken to crack the case, he said.

On decision of SpiceJet to discontinue its service from Puducherry from February, Mr. Rangasamy said he spoke to a representative of the airline management and asked him to continue the service for one more month for exploring avenues of support to the airline to improve occupancy rate. A meeting would be conducted with the Chief Secretary Chetan B. Sanghi in the first week of February to find a solution when the Territorial Administration would study the genuine demands of the airline.
