The Puducherry Assembly passed a resolution urging the Centre to vote against Sri Lanka in the US-sponsored resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council. The resolution urged the Centre to “condemn the violation of human rights and war crimes in Sri Lanka” and vote with the United States. The resolution placed by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy was adopted unanimously by the House. After the resolution, the House was adjourned till March 25.
