Public anger spilled onto Four Corner Junction near dargah here on Wednesday as demonstrators blocked the road protesting against the triple death caused by a State Transport Corporation bus on Tuesday night.,

The protesters, over 400 of them, took to the street demanding a flyover, which according to the locals would avert accidents.

On Tuesday night, a TNSTC bus ran amok crashing into two two-wheelers and a car, killing on the spot three persons, including a woman, and critically injuring a man.

The Muthumariaman Four Point junction is abuzz with traffic and a flyover at that point has been a long-pending demand of the public.

The junction is accident-prone spot and a flyover would ease the speeding traffic that flows into and out of the area. The public gathered at the spot and sat for over two hours disrupting vehicular traffic. The Superintendent of Police Kannammal and the local MP Ashok Kumar rushed to the spot. The protesters dispersed after an assurance that the elected representative would sent send a proposal that a proposal would be sent to the government. The driver of the bus has since been remanded.
