The Doctors Association For Social Equality (DASE) has welcomed the government’s reported move to consider the creation of 2,500 more medical college seats after seeking approval for the same from the Medical Council of India.

3,000 more seats

In a press release, the organisation said that the Central government should make efforts to ensure that Tamil Nadu is allotted 3,000 more seats in order to be able to accommodate aspirants who wrote the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and those who were aiming for admission on the basis of their Class XII marks.

The organisation also wants Tamil Nadu to conduct a separate entrance examination for the State Board students who seek admission to medical colleges.
