Prohibition: DMK flayed

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M. Karunanidhi should not be talking about corruption keeping on his side former Union Minister Dhayanithi Maran, who had been facing corruption charges, said Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Dr. Ramadoss said that 50 years rule by Dravidian parties had ruined Tamil Nadu. He said his party would win the elections to State Assembly and usher in a “new Tamil Nadu”.

Complaining that Mr. Karunanidhi had been frequently changing his party’s stand on prohibition, he wondered why did not the leader talk about prohibition during his election address in Madurai on Tuesday.

Dr. Ramadoss promised to modernise the Centre for Excellence for Burns Treatment set up on the Government Hospital premises here with better technology. He flayed that the centre did not have adequate facilities and required specialists to treat burn injuries. He was also for introducing a new syllabus in educational institutions on fireworks technology so that the industry was streamlined with qualified workers.
