Privilege move against DMK MLAs

October 30, 2013 10:12 am | Updated May 28, 2016 08:53 am IST - CHENNAI:

Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal on Tuesday referred to the Privileges Committee certain remarks made by DMK legislators M.K. Stalin and Durai Murugan after they were evicted from the Assembly.

The issue was raised by Municipal Administration Minister K.P. Munusamy.

The Speaker said while meeting reporters on October 25 and again on 28, Mr. Stalin and Mr. Durai Murugan had made some remarks and attributed motives to the decision of the Speaker.

“On a prima facie view, the issues appeared to attract breach of privilege. I am forwarding the same to the Privileges Committee,” he said.
