An under-trial prisoner M. Sarathkumar (22) escaped from the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Memorial District Headquarters Hospital on Thursday. According to police, the youth was arrested by the All-woman police in Aranthangi and was brought to the hospital for medical examination before being remanded to judicial custody. The youth escaped from the chamber. The Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
Vehicles to be auctioned
Vehicles confiscated by the Prohibition Enforcement Wing police will be auctioned at 9 a.m. on May 31. The interested bidders can inspect the vehicles including 20 four-wheelers and 15 two-wheelers, at the Old Armed Reserve Grounds. A release issued here on Thursday said that the bidders should register their names at 8 a.m. on May 31.
